Hosting your charger

Earnings, setup, privacy, and what to expect from day one as a host.

Hosting your charger

It comes down to how often your charger gets booked. As a rough guide, a standard 7kW home charger can earn roughly £504 to £3,024 a year. The top end takes steady weekly bookings. These are estimates before electricity costs; the earnings calculator shows what your own rate and hours would make.

Nothing to start. Our platform fee is normally 10%, but it's set to 0% while we grow. Join now and you keep the lot.

No. Your charger only opens up to people who've booked, and you see exactly who's coming before they arrive with Know-your-guest (KYG). Only verified guests can book.

Once you've signed up, message us on WhatsApp. We'll confirm your charger is supported and walk you through connecting it, step by step. You can also follow the connection guides for your brand. Myenergi is the one exception right now, and its guide explains why. It's a one-time setup.

Yes, with one thing worth knowing. Your charger's own app carries on working, and Splash only steps in during a guest's booking or your own scheduled charge. The exception is smart charging, where your energy supplier or your charger's maker decides when your car charges. That already takes scheduling out of your hands before Splash is anywhere near it, so if you're on it, tell us what you've got and we'll tell you exactly what it means for you.

We're working on insurance options for hosts right now. In the meantime, it's worth checking whether your home or charger policy already covers other people using it.
